7 goals for year 27
These goals are in no particular order
Learn to use my DSLR camera (manual mode)
I’ve loved photography for as long as I remember. I love capturing moments and I thinks it’s a lot of fun and beautiful.
I actually wanted to become a photographer after high school, but I was raised being told to take the “safe” route. Taking risks wasn’t something I did. I chose healthcare because I knew I could get a job and I also love caring for others. Now after almost 6 years working in healthcare, I wonder to myself if photography is something I could possibly do—my dream!
I would love to become a professional photographer, but first I need to learn how to use my camera! I bought a photography coarse last year, but I never finished it. This will be the year that I will learn.
Read at least one book a month
I love books! Back in high school, I took a reading class where all we did was just read books and I thought it was the best class ever!
As a mom, it’s been challenging for me to make time for reading. So far in 2020, I’ve been able to read one book a month so far, so I’m confident I can reach this goal.
I’m currently into reading about homeschooling, romantic novels, and holistic, natural health.
Increase my speed in running
I got a run coach late October 2019 to help me train for my first marathon. Now that I completed that goal, I want to increase my speed.
My run coach is currently helping me increase my speed while I’m training for my next race. My goal is to break 3 hours in a half marathon this year.
I feel a lot more confident in my running working with a coach and stronger too.
Make sleep a priority
Ok, this past year my sleep was the worst! I’ve always been a night owl, but this year was bad. Most night I went to bed past midnight—usually 1am. There were several night I went to bed at 2am too!
I work 32 hours a week as a medical assistant and I start work early! There’s nothing more that I want than to sleep more this year.
So, I will no longer worry about things not getting done and I will go to sleep at a decent time!
Blog constantly!
Gah. I feel like I always say this and then it doesn’t happen.
Blogging is not free (I own my own website). I pay a lot of money to have this and I feel like it’s not money well spent when I don’t blog.
I really want to give this blog a fair chance and by blogging constantly, I think is a good start. No more blogging breaks!
Simplify and declutter
This is something I have already started to do, and I want to continue. I still have lots of things I need to go through in my home. I truly feel so much better in a simple and decluttered space. Stuff is just stuff.
The space that really needs simplyfying is my master bedroom! I’m also dying to get rid of at least one of our sofas, but Esteban refuses. I would love to get rid of both of them and get a new simple sofa. That is the only thing he is attached to other than his PS4. We’ll see.
Eat less processed foods
I’ve improved in nutrition so much! I stopped eating meat August 2018. I then started to avoid dairy (not 100% though). After that, I stopped eating fries and quick fast foods. Recently, I quit donuts (used to be my weakness) and really cut down on sweets!
My goal now is to eat less processed foods. I want to make majority of my meals and I will try to avoid packaged meals or foods that have ingredients that I don’t understand. Stick to veggies and fruits! Plant based foods 🙂 I’m not going vegan.
I’m really looking forward to see what this year has in store for me. I have a feeling it will be a great one!
