Welcome to Blogmas day 8! Today, I bring you a week in review blog. I haven’t done one of these in a long time. Esteban cooks + Elena grows up + great grandma + bad Friday
I started my week with waking up early to be able to stop by Spunky Dunkers for a coconut donut. I don’t ever stop by for a quick breakfast because 1) I’m always running late to work and 2) I don’t like spending money. BUT, I had no oatmeal, at home (I eat this every morning) and I had no fruit either and no waffles.
I told Esteban that I understood the feeling of buying breakfast in the morning (since he does this all the time), and he asked if I liked it? I said no. I told him I felt bad for spending money haha.
On Tuesday, Elena and I went grocery shopping. I get out of work very late on Mondays and couldn’t go on Monday. Elena used to love pictures, but now she doesn’t want her picture taken sometimes.
Our favorite thing to do at Trader Joe’s is look for the horse and get a lollipop (Elena eats the lollipop).
On Wednesday, my husband bought everything to make alfredo pasta. I had told him I was craving alfredo pasta since we left Disney World. Esteban worked at Noodles & Company during high school, so he makes some pretty good pastas! I love all his pastas. Esteban doesn’t like alfredo pasta, but he will eat it by adding a lot of sriracha sauce.
I kept Sunday’s movie popcorn fresh with a bag over it. I pretty much finished it on my own in 2-3 days throughout the week. It’s so good! Butter 🙂
My parents brought us Dunkin’ Donuts and my mom gave me her old Fitbit because she has a new one. It’s the Charge 2. I currently have the Surge. The band on the Charge 2 is a large and I’m size small, so I need to buy a small band before I can use it.
I’m so glad I was able to get a hand me down because I was thinking of buying something smaller than the Surge (which I have now).
Eventually, I would love to upgrade to a Garmin.
Thursdays are my “get the home together” days. I wash bed sheets, dust, pick up, and vacuum. I mop and clean the bathroom on the weekends.
Lately, Elena has been bringing all her toys to the living room each night because I stay up late working on my blog. She doesn’t go to bed until I do, so she plays while I work at my desk.
Elena and I went to the beauty salon for me to get my eyebrows and for Elena “pretend” to get her eyebrows done. We went to Dollar Tree and Trader Joe’s (different than the one from Tuesday). I have a small Trader Joe’s addiction.
In the evening, we went to Gurnee Mills (outlet mall an hour away from us). We took Esteban’s grandma with us. We ate at the mall food court and shopped for about an hour and half before the mall closed.
I had a Disney store coupon, and bought many things:) I’ll be doing a haul later this week.
Elena’s great grandma is the sweetest! We love her 🙂
Elena loves to act like a grown up by talking about money and working.
Friday evening, I went to packet pick up for Saturday’s 5K.
Elena fell asleep early. I let her sleep on my arm for a long time. How many more years will I be able to do this? I’m enjoying each second. I love her so much.
The unthinkable happened! I never ever thought this would ever happen to me. I didn’t even know this was possible!
Let me explain what you’re seeing. I was washing dishes quickly (while watching Youtube), and hard alfredo sauce wasn’t coming off from the spoon, so I tried to take it off with my nail, and it went right under my nail!!
It was painful, and I tried pulling it out with tweezers, but not much luck. I soaked in warm water mixed with baking soda and pain quickly went down.
I’m so thankful to work in healthcare and have healthcare professionals as friends. I texted one of the physician assistants who I work with and got some advise 🙂 Good news, I’ll be okay (for now at least). I’ll keep soaking it, putting Neosporin, and covering with a band-aid. I’ll be looking for any signs of infections.
Here’s how Esteban’s Friday night went:
