Welcome to Blogmas day 19! In two weeks it will already be 2019! I’m ready for a new year. I love the feeling of a “new start,” and in this blog post, I share my New Year goals for 2019.
I’m a goal oriented individual. I like having an idea of what I want to accomplish, how I will accomplish it, and keep track of my progress along the way.
I will keep these goals in my life planner to remind me of my goals throughout the year.
Simplify
This is something I’ve been working on for the past few months and it’s something I want to continue doing. I want to simplify my space (home), schedule, meal plans, and more. I’ve been leaning towards a minimalist lifestyle. Less stuff and less things to do means more space, more peace, more time to enjoy the moment.

Budget
I’ve learned how to better manage my money this year. I’ve loved saving money and I’ve always been very responsible about money ever since I started working at age 18. This year in particular, I’ve learned a lot more about managing money through the debt free community in Instagram and through Dave Ramsey.
I want to continue to carefully watch where every dollar goes and continue to budget appropriately.

Become debt-free
I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. I, myself, became debt free last year. Now married, my husband and I have some debt. I know we can go debt-free in 2019 (hopefully before the Summer). I don’t ever want to be in any kind of debt no matter how small.
We will have a lot going on in 2019. We will have a lot of financial responsibilities which will be tough. I’m confident we can get through them and not accumulate much debt or none at all.
Create a “home-school” routine for my three year old.
Elena will be 3 in January 2019. I want to teach her as much as I can from letters to numbers, seasons, Holidays and more. I’ve seen a few great blog posts on Pinterest about this. I don’t plan on registering her for pre-school and that is why I want to get her into a routine for teaching her about many things and doing lots of learning activities.

Blog twice a week
While doing Blogmas (blogging everyday for 25 days), I’ve come to realize that posting twice a week is very doable for me. Blogging every day is tough. I’ve literally gotten 5-6 hours of sleep per night because each blog post takes me about 2-3 hours to complete. If I blog twice a week, I can take more time to work on it.
I’m loving Blogmas, and I’m also counting down the days until it’s over haha. All I wish for right now is time to run and at least 6.5 or 7 hours of sleep! I got this 😉

Run often
My goal is to not go more than 2 days without running unless I’m resting after a half marathon. For my 2019 running goals, click HERE.

Read 5 books
This goal may sound a bit ridiculous, but as I full time working mom, runner, and blogger I’ve had no time to read any books this year. I think I read half a book in the beginning of the year, but I’ve just have made no time for reading.
Because I only read half a book in 2018, I think 5 books for 2019 is a good goal for me. Let me know if you have any book recommendations!

Practice yoga
Alright, I’ve been saying this for the past two years and I still don’t practice yoga on a regular basis. I’m going to make 2019 be the year I finally incorporate yoga into my fitness schedule!

I will show you how I include these goals into my planner once I “settle in” into my 2019 Life Planner.
What are your 2019 goals?
What are you most looking forward to in 2019?

These are great goals! I have to admit that as a new blogger I was way too intimidated to try Blogmas, but I might try upping my post level in a few months.
Have you considered audiobooks as a way to help with your reading goal? I read like crazy, and in the past few years I’ve also started listening, so I can also work on my TBR list when I need to keep my hands free.
Speaking of reading, what kinds of books do you like? I read a little bit of everything, so I’m sure I can recommend something in the genres you enjoy.
You can do it, Amanda! It’s all about making it a priority. Yes! I love audiobooks. To be completely honest I prefer to read a book on my own or follow along the audiobook with the actual book lol. Liane Moriarty and Mitch Albom are my favorite authors. I love fiction. What do you like to read?
I read all the time, in all kinds of different genres. 98% fiction, I’d say. I typically read at least two books a week, and if it’s well written, I’ll read it. That’s why recommendations are hard for me, because I’ve read SO MANY good books.
You might like Gone Girl, if you haven’t read it, since you’re a Moriarty fan. I try to get everyone to read Station Eleven and Spinning Silver, because they’re so beautifully written, and I love interwoven stories. I also like to recommend When it Happens to You, by Molly Ringwald, because a lot of people haven’t heard of it and it’s really cool that Molly Ringwald wrote a great book. Just as a start. Lol
Thanks SO much for your book recommendations,Amanda! I’ve had Gone Girl on my to read list for a while now. I’m so excited to look into these books. I’ll definitely update you once I read one.
Any time! My friends are always asking me what to read. Just FYI: the audiobook of Gone Girl is fantastic. One of my favorite performances.
