Welcome to Blogmas 16! We are just 17 days from the new year and in this blog post, I share my 2019 running goals.
- Run a half marathon in the Spring.
- Finally cross off the Hot Chocolate 15K from my bucket list.
- Get a new 5K and 10K PR (personal record).
- Run with with my toddler (in the stroller) more often.
- Continue to improve my running slowly to prevent an injury.
- Get outside more. I run on the treadmill too much.
- Prepare and train for a full marathon (26.2 miles)!!
Yes, you read that right! I will be training for my very first full marathon in 2019! So, basically everything I do in 2019 will be for my first marathon. I am aiming to run 26.2 miles January 2020.
In the beginning for 2019, I will focus on training for a Spring half marathon and increasing my speed a little. I don’t worry too much about my time. When it comes to running long distance, I just want to cross the finish line without any injuries. But you know, who doesn’t like setting new personal records!?
I’m currently running 5Ks and 10Ks at a 12 minute per mile pace and I would like to get back to the speed I used to run pre-pregnancy. It would be awesome to be able to run at an 11 1/2 minute average pace or faster.
I’ve been wanting to run Chicago’s Hot Chocolate 15K for years, but the dates never work out for me. This year, it looks like it will work out! I’m not signing up until it gets closer to the race date just in case I can’t make it on that date.
Earlier this year, I bought a BOB jogging stroller and I used it very few times. My daughter won’t sit it in more than a mile! I would like to get my money’s worth and actually use the jogging stroller it in 2019. Give me your best tips for keeping a toddler in a jogging stroller!
I’m afraid of running outside on my own because of the terrible stories I read online and hear on the news, but I really would like to run outside more. I run on the treadmill all the time! I don’t mind treadmill running, but miles go by faster outside.
2019 will be a year full of many runs, races, miles, and fun!! Let’s do this!!
