This has been a project on my to-do list for a while now. I’m so glad it’s done. In this blog post ,I share my daughter’s closet before and after.
My daughter’s closet is in her room. Her room is just a play room since she still sleeps in our room.
When my husband I moved in to our current apartment, I was pregnant and we put some of Elena’s clothes in here and the rest in her dresser. That left a large free space in this closet before she was born. We pretty much used this closet as a storage space for things that “didn’t have a home.”
Now, my daughter is two and she has a lot of toys and a lot more clothes + clothes that she has outgrown. It was time for some organization and purging!
Before:
The next 4 pictures are the BEFORE. As you can tell, it wasn’t too organized and it was overflowing with stuff. A total nightmare! The closet door wasn’t closing anymore because there was just too much!
- BEFORE left upper side of closet
- BEFORE left bottom side of closet
- BEFORE right upper side of closet
- BEFORE right bottom side of closet
After:
- AFTER left upper side of closet
- AFTER left bottom side of closet
- AFTER right upper side of closet
- AFTER right bottom side of closet
I’ve beenĀ getting into simplifying my life and my stuff. Getting rid of things that are duplicates or that have no special purpose or value in my life. I have thrown away the idea of “maybe I’ll use this thing one day..”because most often than not I never use it.
I really needed to purge as much as I could from this closet. I was so tired of an overflowing closet with a door that I could not close due to all the stuff.
My husband and I are planning to have a second child in the upcoming years. That is why I still hold on to most of my daughter’s clothes that she has outgrown. I’ll just hope it’s a girl so I can reuse everything š
I hope this blog post motivates you to tackle a closet or space in your home to help you feel organized and “free” from stuff.
