Oh, October. A couple last days of Summer, a week of fall, and now it’s winter! The only good thing about the weather is that it has not snowed, yet! In this blog post, I share a mini recap from September and my October running plan. Run Disney’s Wine and Dine weekend is almost here!
Today is October 20th and I’m just getting to post this blog post (sorry!). In my plan below, it shows what I’ve planed up to now and my plan for the rest of the month.
Here is a mini recap from last month (September):
“almost gave up” run:
I had none in September, BUT I did miss 2 runs on the last week of September due to a very busy work and life week
Sep 30th because I ran twice in one day to win the Fitbit weekend challenge 😉
September total miles:
November 2018 will be my 2nd half marathon (my first one was in 2015) and this will be my first time running 3 different races in the same long weekend. Because they are Disney races, my main goal is to have blast and cross the finish line without injuries! Running at Disney is my absolute favorite and Disney races was the reason I started running in 2015.

September was great. I learned to make running a priority (at least for now since I’m training for my second half marathon). I got my workout done as scheduled and I “kept showing up.”
I learned to appreciate and fall in love with running outdoors. I am afraid of running alone when being out, so I don’t run unless my brother comes with me. My husband has no interest in running and he stays home with our daughter.
The following October running plan (below) was created by me using my past experience with training for a long distance race and also by using Jeff Galloway’s training plan as guidance from the Run Disney website. I made this plan specifically for me, but feel free to follow it or use it as a guideline for creating your own plan.

Please note, I am not a professional runner nor am I an expert at making running plans. I am not a running coach. Always consult your doctor for any medical questions and/or concerns about your own health. I am only sharing my running plan for the month of August 2018.
My goal at the beginning of the month was to finish a 10 miler without injury. I did it! I ran 10 miles on the TREADMILL on 10/14/18. That was the longest I’ve EVER run during training. I never ran more than 7 miles when training for my first half marathon.
The first Saturday of the month, I ran Long Grove’s Prairie State 10K and if you want to see the recap, click here.
For cross training, I do yoga, walking, and stretch band exercises. To be completely honest, I don’t cross train as much as I need to.
I will continue to blog about my running plans monthly and I will of course give you updates about my miles and running along the way. 🙂
